Is my connection quantum-safe?
The test shows whether your browser agrees on the encryption key with ML-KEM – the new method meant to hold even when quantum computers become big enough.
Encrypted traffic can be recorded today and stored until someone can one day unlock it. This is called “harvest now, decrypt later”. A quantum-safe key exchange closes that door: the traffic can still be recorded, but as far as anyone knows today, not unlocked.
All you need is an up-to-date browser: Chrome and Edge 131+, Firefox 132+ (Android 145+), Safari 26+, Brave 1.73+, Opera 116+ or Tor Browser 15+. The site you visit must offer it too – wi24rd.com and myip.wi24rd.com do.
If the test says no even though your browser is new, a company network with TLS inspection or an older VPN may be stripping out the quantum-safe part.
What people ask
What does X25519MLKEM768 mean?
It is the name of the combined key exchange: the well-known X25519 plus the new ML-KEM-768, which the US standards institute NIST approved in 2024 (FIPS 203). Together the connection is at least as secure as before.
Are all sites quantum-safe when my browser is?
No. The server must offer it too. Many large sites already do, but far from all.
